CHAIRPERSON POSITIONS:

RED RIBBON WEEK — Help Dr. Mitchell and a committee of students decorate and plan activities to raise awareness about drugs and alcohol and violence prevention (October 25-29).

STEAMAPALOOZA! — We need a chairperson and volunteers to work with Simpson faculty to plan and coordinate a school-wide, evening family event with various STEAM-related demonstrations and hands-on activities! Help with advertising, set-up, food sales at event, and clean-up. Event Date: January 20, 2022 (Event Date and format subject to change)

8TH GRADE DANCE/CELEBRATION — All signs point to “ yes” for bringing back the 8th grade dance this year! We need a chairperson and team of volunteers to plan and coordinate this event, which typically takes place the Tuesday night before the last day of school, May 24, 2022.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERS

REFLECTIONS COMMITTEE — Help our reflections chair coordinate, advertise, and conduct the annual Reflections Contest for this year (Aug/Sept) and start planning in spring for next year!

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE — Volunteers help our Hospitality Charis coordinate activities, treats, and little rewards/gifts for Simpson teachers and staff. There are many opportunities to help as we host a small activity/treat per month and a larger activity/gift before winter break and a week of fun stuff during teacher appreciation week in April. Help with picking up items, sending out sign-ups, setting up or cleaning up. No need to be available for every event!

KINDNESS INITIATIVE — Volunteers to help our Kindness Chairs to plan activities and rewards to encourage acts of Kindness among students and our Simpson Community. This was a new initiative in 2020-21 and was a great success! We will coordinate a few initiatives each semester—tasks may include picking up items, helping promote events, decorating, packaging kindness rewards, etc.

SCHOOL STORE — Volunteers to help run the school store one or two mornings/week from about 8:30am-9:10 am. School Store sells convenience items such as pencils, pens, notebooks, Simpson spirit items and spirit wear, and this year looking to introduce new FUN items!

FALL ACTIVITY NIGHT — Volunteers to help our chairpersons plan and coordinate a mixed 6th and 7th grade after-school (usually runs from about 4:30-7pm), casual evening of fun with a DJ, games, and snacks! Volunteers help with tasks such as decoration, set up, chaperone, serving food, and clean up. Event Date: November 4, 2021.

DAD’S INITIATIVE — We are looking for a group of dedicated dad’s to bring back this committee this year…maybe start by helping direct carpool traffic one morning/week!
